Rare Opportunity to Help Restore Ross Island!

Portland Parks & Recreation and The Friends of Ross Island invite YOU to get involved in the restoration of Ross Island!

Every 2nd Saturday of the month from June through September, you will have the opportunity to help restore this beautiful urban greenspace. The morning will start with a lovely paddle from the Portland Boathouse to Ross Island. There, volunteers will remove litter and invasive plants from the island.

Along the way, learn about the history of the island, its ecological value, and the vision for its future.

  • Canoes will be provided free of charge by Willamette Riverkeeper for those volunteers who do not have their own.
  • Children are welcome when accompanied and supervised by an adult.

When:     Saturday, September 12

Where: Portland Boathouse, 1515 SE Water Avenue, Portland, OR 97214

Time: Boats leave at 9:00am sharp and return around 12:00 noon

Events are limited to 25 people. Please only register for one event so others can also enjoy this unique experience.
