What does a $100 contribution do for this organization?
$100 will present 30 children with an in-class program that highlights Oregon’s native animals and unique habitats.
How do volunteers make a difference for this organization?
In 2008, 300 active volunteers dedicated more than 30,000 hours to clearing trails and invasive plants, answering phones, caring for injured wildlife, supporting events and contributing the equivalent of $563,820*in estimated value.

Audubon Society of Portland promotes the understanding, enjoyment, and protection of native birds, other wildlife and their habitats. We focus on our local community and the Pacific Northwest.

2008 Accomplishments:

Portland Audubon operates the largest and busiest native wildlife rehabilitation center in the region:
• 3,000 animals found injured or orphaned were treated by staff veterinarians and 80 trained volunteers at the Wildlife Care Center.
• 18,000 people attended public appearances by our seven non-releaseable education birds
• 50 rehabilitated birds were released back to the wild
• 15,000 queries were answered by the Urban Wildlife Resource Office, providing information to support learning to live with wildlife.
