Earth Day Network seeks to broaden and diversify the environmental movement worldwide and to mobilize it as the most effective vehicle for promoting a healthy, sustainable planet, addressing climate change, and protecting the earth for future generations. We pursue these goals through education, politics, cultural events, and consumer activism. EDN is a driving force steering environmental awareness around the world. Through Earth Day Network, activists connect, interact, and impact their communities, and create positive change in local, national, and global policies. Earth Day is the only event celebrated simultaneously around the globe by people of all backgrounds, faiths and nationalities. More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.

Earth Day Network’s programs and activities are guided by the following goals:

  • Promote Civic Engagement
  • Broaden the Meaning of "Environment"
  • Mobilize Communities
  • Create Groundbreaking Environmental Education Programs
  • Train New Environmental Leaders
  • Build International Partnerships that Strengthen Cooperation among Diverse Groups
