May 04, 2017: Riparian Planting on South Fork Crooked River (Spring)

Our third year of a five year effort to help restore beaver and fish habitat on four miles of the South Fork Crooked River. Thanks to a long-time collaboration with a private conservation lands owner, we are over half-way through with this ambitious project involving tens of thousands of plantings and a half-dozen beaver dam analogues. On this trip we'll show you a new better way to plant willows and cottonwoods to help continue the area's transformation.

May 10, 2017: John Day Float and Fence Pull: Clarno to Cottonwood
Where: Lower John Day River (Central Oregon)
For whom: Oregon Natural Desert Association
Seeking: Individuals
On this trip, volunteers will float the Lower John Day River starting from the town of Clarno and ending near one of Oregon's newest State Parks at Cottonwood Canyon. Along the way we will partnering with the BLM to remove one mile of obsolete fence. In addition to the fence removal, we will be opportunistically monitoring conditions of campsites and wilderness characteristics along the way.
