Outreach & Communications Assistant

(Salem)

Part‐time (16‐24 hours per week)
$15‐$17 per hour, plus expense reimbursement
Mid‐Willamette Valley location, with significant travelApplications accepted immediately, position open until filled

EarthShare Oregon's Outreach and Communications Assistant will assist and support the Director of Workplace Activities with outreach and coordination tasks at workplaces in the Mid‐Willamette Valley region (primarily Salem area, but occasionally as far south as Eugene and as far north as Portland). The ideal candidate is service‐oriented, well organized, and a highly proficient communicator in both English and Spanish who enjoys engaging with the public.

The position is part‐time, approximately 16‐24 hours per week, to be arranged and scheduled in advance. Because workplace fundraising events occur in a wide range of locations at a wide range of times, flexible availability and reliable transportation are required. However, despite the flexible nature of the schedule, a professional and dependable attitude towards the work is essential. Regular email, phone, and in‐person coordination and communication with the Director of Workplace Activities, based in Portland, is a key component of the position.

Because we do not currently have an office in Salem, the position can include a stipend for a home‐based office or other arrangements suitable to the successful applicant. We use Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint for our internal communications and document storage, so familiarity and competency with that system would be beneficial. Some events will occur beginning in late June, so immediate availability and an eagerness to learn are desired.

An appreciation of, enthusiasm for, and commitment to the role of nonprofit organizations in society is important, as the successful applicant will be representing EarthShare Oregon and its member groups, as well as other nonprofit organizations in the social services, health, and culture realm.

Base compensation for this position is $15‐$17 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, all travel and office expenses will be covered. Paid holidays, medical leave, and vacation time are provided, but because this is a part‐time position, health insurance and similar benefits are not included.

To apply, please email a resume and cover letter indicating interest and qualifications for the position, to info@earthshare‐oregon.org, addressed to the Director of Workplace Activities.

Please use PDF format for attachments. Apply promptly, as we will be conducting interviews as soon as possible and filling the position before the end of June.
